主题1：Investor Site Visits, Discussion Contents, and Analyst Forecasts: A Machine Learning Approach

摘要：We use machine learning to perform a textual analysis of question and answer (Q&A) content involved in investor site visit reports, in order to explore the impact of information conveyed from them on analyst forecast errors and revisions. We adopt four widely used machine learning methods and evaluate these methods through the accuracy of the predicted classification results of testing samples. We find that more performance- and operations-related Q&A content discussed during site visits significantly reduce analyst forecast errors and have a lower degree of revisions. Furthermore, these relations are more pronounced in sub-samples where the site visit participants are institutional investors. The results remain consistent after addressing endogeneity issues and robustness checks.
